US 11 Antique Ally Yard Sale
Written by Carol Beddingfield

One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.  This old saying will prove to be very true at the US 11 Antique Ally Yard Sale.

The event will be held May 14, 15, and 16th following US Highway 11 from Meridian, Mississippi to Bristol, Virginia.

This unique shopping experience will require patience from the shoppers, vendors, and from all of our citizens.

Remember, you are the first and lasting impression of our area to visitors. The Chamber has received many inquiries from several states about lodging and recreation.

If you are planning to have a yard sale, your success will depend on how organized you are.  Many property owners will allow you to set up along the route at a minimum charge.

Start with an eye catching sign.  It can be a simple as a paper bag filled with rocks, stuffed with newspapers and stapled shut.  Be sure to use crayons and permanent markers to insure large print.

Put prices on everything.  Double check all items for overlooked cash, receipts, or old credit cards.

Set items that would appeal to a man’s hobby very close to the road.  It is easier to get the husband to stop at these locations!

Have funds for making change.  Most importantly, post “All Sales Final” signs.

Good luck with your sale.  Don’t forget to spend your profit locally.  Be the best first impression!
