Krazy Kudzu Follies
Written by Carol Beddingfield

They say it takes a village to raise a child.  It took the entire community to create the one of the most successful Krazy Kudzu Follies ever.

I want to thank those who purchased tickets.  It was an honor to provide a night of fun and laughter at special ticket prices this year.

This space cannot hold all the names of the people that I wish to thank. The Board of Directors and the many volunteers deserve a round of applause for helping with the details behind the scene.

Kendall Shankles’s yellow cab and New York skyline helped to provide the theme, Way off Broadway.

Our cast family, the largest ever, totaled 76.  Every one expressed commitment to next year’s performance.

Mike Griggs exemplifies our cast.  Even though he had dressed in his street clothes after Friday’s performance, he became Shrek again to fulfill a small child’s wish.  That will be a lasting memory for me.

The first question asked in the preliminary plans is always “What will the little old man and woman do?”  Thank you Ronnie Osborn and Brenda Bailey for being the glue that holds us all together!

I also want to thank the families of the participants in the Follies.  You have given the most precious gift – time.

The Follies leaves me with at least one new line for life. This year is “What the Lord has forgotten, stuff with cotton.”  I hope our “stuffings” continue to make you smile.

I can’t wait until next year!
