Fort Payne Chamber Board of Directors
Written by Carol Beddingfield
2/12/2010

The new Chamber Board of Directors will begin their term on Thursday, February 11th at the monthly Chamber meeting.

Roland Anderson, owner of Metal Market, will exemplify what it is like to be a small business owner in our town.  Not only is he a smart business person, but is very talented. His craftsmanship can be seen in our City Parks as well as the ironwork on the several buildings downtown.

DeKalb Regional Medical Center CEO, Jeff Rains, brings a view of working for a large corporation.  In his role, Jeff helps recruit retail and industry to our area.  A town must have an excellent medical facility to even be considered for the location of a new business.

Don Stout, President of GH Metal Solutions, Inc., is a “home grown boy”.  Don’s knowledge of the people and the business community will be a valuable asset in the Board’s efforts to create more membership services.

The other Board of Directors include Scott Bateman, Regions Bank; Rebecca Dellinger, Fort Payne City Schools Superintendent Office; Julie Mewes, Holiday Inn Express; Terry Rogers, Smith Newspapers; Steve Eberhart, First Federal; Marie Hilyer, Community Credit Union; JD Davidson, Times-Journal; Greg Conkle, Fort Payne Parks and Recreation; Scott Akins, Akins Furniture.

President Glenn Horton, LCR Realty; Past President Tricia Shankles, Childcare Resource Network; and President Elect Brian Baine, Bruce’s Foodland, will lead the Chamber for 2010.

There is another Board of Director that the Chamber simply cannot survive without – Linda Beville.  Linda’s first words for any event are “How can I help?”  Her concern for our town cannot be measured.

On behalf of Donna and myself, I want to express our sincere

appreciation to the Board of Directors for their leadership.
