Are you still looking for ways to keep the New Year’s resolution of getting more exercise?

I have found the perfect solution - square dancing.  Read on before you say I have two left feet and no rhythm.

The Duos and Squares of DeKalb County is starting new classes in Western Style square dancing at the Tom Bevill Center at 6:30 PM each Thursday beginning January 28th.  The first two classes are free.

According to Faye Gaskins, owner of Cornerstone Realty, this type of dancing is the best form of exercise for people of all ages. At present, the Duos and Squares ages range from 12 years to 91 years young.

No previous experience is required.  The terminology in directional calls and steps are learned as you perform them.  A “caller” will instruct you.

Others in the class will guide you in the direction that each call requires.  So if you get your right and left confused, there is a friend that will help you.

This recreational exercise is a fun way to meet people.  Your mental attitude will even improve.  Call 638-5101 for more information.

Join Faye and others to improve your overall health.  What have you got to lose except for a few inches in your waist and the winter time blues.

Congratulations again to the recipients of the Chamber’s Key People Awards.  They will be recognized at the Chamber’s annual banquet on January 28th at 6:00 PM at the DeKalb Theatre.
