The best way to calm stressful times for business owners is
to seek professional guidance.William
(Billy) Canary, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Business Council of
Alabama, has the insight in the present and future business climate of our
state.
Everyone is encouraged to hear Mr. Canary at the Chamber’s
annual banquet on January 28th at the DeKalb Theatre at 6:00
PM.Tickets are available at the Chamber
office.
Mr. Canary became the president of BCA after serving as the
president of the American Trucking Associations in WashingtonD.C.Because of his extensive background in the
public policy and governmental arenas, President George H. Bush appointed him
to serve in the White House as special assistant to the president for
intergovernmental affairs.
Following his time at the White House, Mr. Canary was named
chief of the staff for the Republican National Committee.Today, he is the spokesperson for over 5,000
BCA members who employ nearly three quarters of a million Alabamians.
The Chamber will also recognize the recipients of the 2010
key people awards at the event.The

Johnson, Religious Leader; Jeremy Taylor, Volunteer; Dr. Bart Bailey, Medical
Person; Gwen Mitchell, Educator; Sheriff Jimmy Harris, Public Servant; and
Brian Baine, Citizen of the Year.
