Chamber Chatter

Very few people get to enjoy their “calling” in life.  Even fewer are truly passionate about their chosen profession.

Janet Owen has a special glow when she describes the WillsCreek Village Assisted Living facility.  Her dream to improve the lives of many of her friends and customers became a reality in 2004.

As a beautician, Janet became aware of the many obstacles that her clients faced while trying to remain in their homes.  Her main goal was to eliminate some of life’s responsibilities in order to enjoy the more meaningful aspects.

I can describe the facility in one word, happy.  Every detail is bright and colorful.  The 12 employees laugh and interact with the residents.

Each of the 32 rooms is immaculate.  They will accommodate several pieces of furniture.  Therefore, familiar surroundings is a plus in making this transition.

The activity room was filled with crafts.  The chapel provides a place of worship and meditation.

Three daily meals and snacks are served.  Help with medication is also available.  Care is managed 24 hours a day. The residents enjoy the independent lifestyle.

Janet is providing a home for the residents.  She is also solving a problem for the sandwich generation.  Many families are raising children while they are caring for their parents.

Janet smiled when I asked her if she missed her beauty salon.  She said that she brought it with her.  The residents love having their own shop within the facility.

I encourage you to meet Janet and her staff.  A tour of the building and an explanation of services will be given during your visit.  Call 845-3277 to schedule an appointment.
