Sweet Seasons “Art at the Barn” Written by Carol Beddingfield 5/6/2009
Looking for something different to share with mother on her special day this weekend?
Sweet Seasons “Art at the Barn” is the perfect outing. Join the Manning family for a spring art sale on their beautiful farm located at 2339 County Road 608, Valley Head.
The art sale on Saturday, May 9th from 10 AM to 4 PM will feature works by regional artist and artisans. Items will include pottery, handmade jewelry, blown glass, forged metal, wood carvings and paintings.
Justin Manning will showcase his new company called Creo LLC. You must see these beautiful pieces of art created from concrete and other material made to resemble stone. The hypertufa planters and garden accents gain beauty with age but they are also lightweight.
Justin is building a reputation all over the US for his concrete countertops as well as casual furniture tabletops. The tabletops are available in standard sizes and the styles range from a stained concrete finish, to mosaic patterns, to custom designs with logos cast into the surface.
Paulette will also have a variety of antique pieces for sale. Food vendors and baked goods will satisfy your hunger.
The Manning Farm has been recognized in Southern Living magazine. Unusual pumpkins of different sizes, texture, and color caught the eye of the writer. Paulette and Richard have shipped these pumpkins world wide.
We are very fortunate to have the Manning family in our area. Not only are they talented but they care about our community. They are taught by a great example, Rachel Manning. Her work in creating the DeKalb County Library is unsurpassed.
The WBCNA will host the monthly Loan Clinic on May 12th at 10 AM at the Chamber Office. L.D. Ralph, SBA Loan Specialist, will consul small business owners who are seeking funding for existing or start-up companies. Call 845-2741 to register.
