It is truly amazing how young people can cope with huge life changes.  Kevin Chitwood could teach many how not to stress over the small things and truly enjoy the big ones!

During his first campaign for public office, Kevin married the love of his life, Jaime. Also during the middle of these stressful times, his company, First Southern State Bank, built and moved into a beautiful state of the art facility.

First Southern State Bank opened their doors for business on October 3, 1910 in Stevenson.  To better serve area residents, the bank expanded its operation.

Today, there are six offices located in Scottsboro, Rainsville, Higdon, Stevenson and Fort Payne with two branch offices.

The banking system is a full service bank with assets of $240 million.  Funds are protected by FDIC at the full $250,000 amount.

According to Kevin, “We take pride in being an independent, community bank operated by local people.  Our staff of highly trained professionals are your friends and neighbors, so you can be assured when you do business with us you will be doing business with someone you know.”

Join the Chamber as we welcome First Southern State Bank with a ribbon cutting on October 30th at Noon.  The bank is located at 2128 Gault Avenue, North.  Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.

Kevin will be serving everyone as Assistant Vice President of First Southern State Bank.  However, I am sure a pat on the back for being elected to the Fort Payne City Council will be greatly appreciated.

The date for the Fort Payne Christmas Parade has been set for Friday, December 12th at 6:00 PM.  Christmas in the Park will begin at 4:00 PM.  Parade entry forms are now available at the Chamber office.  Call 845-2741 for more information
