Congratulations to the Chamber’s newly elected board of directors. They are Amy Justice, Wilson Funeral Home; Josh Miller, Duncan Medical Equipment; and Tricia Shankles, Childcare Resource Network.

The other members of the board include Don Stout, Gas House; Terry Rogers, Smith Newspapers, Inc.; Scott Bateman, Regions Bank; JD Davidson, Times-Journal; Linda Bevill, retired; Steve Eberhart, First Federal Bank; Julie Mewes, Holiday Inn Express; Scott Akins, Akins & Son Furniture; Rebecca Dellinger, retired; Marie Hilyer, Community Credit Union; Jeff Rains, DeKalb Regional Medical Center; Roland Anderson, Metal Market.

The officers are Glenn Horton, President, Brian Baine, President-Elect; Tricia Shankles, Past-President.

The largest percentage of the Chamber’s membership participated in this year’s election process. I want to thank the members for their involvement in moving the Chamber forward.

Serving as a board of director is a three year commitment. Service to the Chamber and the community include the monthly board meetings, the After Hours, the Chamber Coffees, the Krazy Kudzu Follies, as well as other functions.

A greater role for the board of directors is the promotion of our business community on a daily basis. The directors are fully committed to enhancing the climate of business growth.

The board is not only involved in the recruitment of new business but they are dedicated to the existing companies.

I want to personally thank the Board for giving their time and efforts to improving the Chamber. Through their guidance, the Chamber has been able to make positive changes to advance our community.

Please express your gratitude to these individuals. Your next opportunity will be the annual Christmas Parade on December 10^th. The entire board works to ensure the success of this event.
