The Package Store

Sharon and Lonnie Hale define partnership. Not only have they been married years but the growth of their business, The Package Store, exemplifies the term. The success of the Package Store is the continuous additions of services that meet the needs of the citizens of our area. Shipping packages is a major component of the business. Sharon and Lonnie are packaging specialists certified by the Associated of Mail and Parcel Centers. I never think about protection against truck delivery vibrations or the compression if shipped by air. Many more factors are considered when a package is shipped safely. Tracking of the package to insure delivery is also helpful to the customer. Have you ever been charges a late fee because you forgot to make a pay a bill? The bill paying center has a list of 166 companies that the package store can accept payment and have it credited either the same day or within three days. Lonnie is very excited about the new blueprint copier. This machine is designed to copy house plans, engineering prints, or other projects of contractors. Copies can be made as large as 36” X 48” or large copies can be reduced to 8 ½” X 10”. The embroidery of lettermen’s jackets for local high schools is another talent of Lonnie. He can also create designs for clothing or household items. Sharon enjoys the service of personalized gift baskets. One can buy the merchandize, have it gift wrapped, packaged to ship, and shipped with the special card all at the Package Store. According to the Hales, partnering through the network of Fort Payne businesses helps everyone. There are constant referrals of potential customers. The Chamber congratulates Sharon and Lonnie as they celebrate 5 years of ownership of the Package Store. The next five years should bring even more diversification in the services that they offer.
