PH Machine

10/15/2008

Jonathan Tremmier is truly excited about locating his business, PH Machine, in Fort Payne. Being from Rising Fawn, the obvious choice would have been Chattanooga.

The two major reasons he chose Fort Payne were the dedicated workforce and the encouragement of Mayor Jordan and the City Council.

His well equipped modern machining facility is located in Fort Payne’s industrial park. According to Jonathan, the land was reasonably priced, located close to Interstate 59, and easily accessible for the flat bed trucks.

His decision has proven to be very wise. The business in the first 6 months of this year has surpassed all of last year. In fact, the increase has been ten times since 2000.

Jonathan gained his knowledge of machining through his father. While employed at Vulcan Iron Works, Norris was instrumental in the creation of the largest pile hammer in the world, weighing in over 600,000 pounds.

The continuation of his father’s company, Pile Hammer Equipment, is a dream come true for Jonathan. Originally founded in 1983 as a parts supply company, PHE has grown to serve customers throughout the country, offering parts, repairs and consulting services.

Recognizing the need for repair of the pile hammers, Jonathan joined Brian Morgan to create PH Machine. Their largest customers are the oil rigs that have been affected by the numerous hurricanes this year.

However, PH Machine is open to the public. Services range from the repair of small farm equipment to pieces weighing 40-50,000 pounds.

The greatest attribute of Jonathan and Brian, was their pride in their totally American made products. Call PH Machine at 256-844-6565.

Join others for the Chamber Business After Hours on Thursday, October 16th at 5:00 PM at Moments in Time Photography, 1801 Gault Avenue, N, Suite 101.
